Project Name: MLS IDX Integration for American Property Services
Project Summary: American Property Services, of Grand Ledge, Michigan, has launched a property listings search tool from the company’s real estate services website, making it easy for site visitors to conduct online property searches of Greater Lansing and the mid-Michigan area. People searching for homes have access to thousands of the most up-to-date property listings on the Lansing market, including detailed property information, list prices and photos, without ever leaving the American Property Services website.
This custom Internet Data Exchange (IDX) technology extracts raw listing data from the Greater Lansing Association of Realtors (GLAR) Multiple Listing Service (MLS) and formats the information into a seamlessly integrated and easily searchable part of the American Property Services website. Three unique search functions are offered: by zip code, school district or MLS listing ID. Each listing page supplies viewers with detailed property information, a “Schedule a Showing” link which sends an email directly to an American Property Services agent, and the ability to view listing photo galleries. Users may search real estate listings based on property type (residential, commercial, vacant, etc.), location (zip code or school district), set minimum and maximum price ranges, and choose search criteria such as number of bedrooms or bathrooms. The site even provides prospective home-buyers a mortgage calculator, helping them gain a sense for their likely mortgage payments.
