Case Study: Ingham County Website and Logo

Project Name: Ingham County Web Design and Logo

Michigan web design, government web design, municipal web design, Dreamscape Multimedia, Lansing web design, Michigan web hostingProject Summary: The purpose of this redesigned website was to offer a fresh look for Ingham County’s online presence. The County originally wished to have a common "look and feel" to the entire website, but allow their 32 departments to have a "departmental" variation to the common look. The request for bid asked for:

  • one master template that is compatible with both Dreamweaver and Expression Web software,
  • website template with 32 departmental variations, including at least one change of title and imagery specific to that department,
  • DHTML capable menu,
  • "bread crumb" navigation,
  • "online" and "quick" applications link,
  • links for Businesses, Visitors, Citizens and Government,
  • printable version for all main pages,
  • ability to enlarge display font, and
  • countywide search button.
The web design project was delivered successfully and the County rolled the site out during autumn 2009. They have agreed to be a reference and attest for Dreamscape Multimedia’s performance. As the project began, it was determined they would not seek the 32 departmental variations in order to simplify administration and strengthen the unified feel of the county website.
